Day 1 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari : Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Entebbe or Kampala, for Kibale Forest National park via Mubende and arriving in the afternoon. Kibale Forest known as the Chimpanzee Capital of Africa, is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Uganda Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey, Uganda Red Colobus., Olive Baboon, and many other species.
Day 2 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
One of the major highlights of this tour are chimpanzees. Today after an early morning breakfast, you will head to the Kibale forest visitor center for registration and the continue for Chimpanzee tracking . Relax at the lodge or hotel for the rest of the afternoon. Optional nature or community walk can be done on request. This include the Bigodi wetland walk, or the visit to Amabere Ganyinamwiru.
Day 3 – 4 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Evening Game drive is usually productive.
On day 4 , You will spend a whole day in the park with a Morning game drive, and afternoon Board ride.
The Park which is named after the Queen of England who visited it in 1954 is the second largest national park in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth national park boasts the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. This is evidenced by the presence of open savannah, rainforest, dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes, and the vast Lake Edward. Queen Elizabeth national park has almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 612 bird species hence making it a superb safari territory, with elephant, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda Kob all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula – which also boasts a marvelous waterfront setting in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Day 5 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari: Transfer to Bwindi National park.
This morning you have chances of driving through Ishasha savanah south of Queen Elizabeth National Park areas where there are chances of the tree climbing Lions. Other animals include Topi, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Elephants, and notably the area is rich with birds.
Day 6 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari: Gorilla Tracking – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, we shall assemble at the park offices for the briefing prior to this historic event. Gorilla tracking is a very captivating activity; it might take 1-8 hours which involves walking in the wilderness in search of these gentle giants. Gorilla Tracking can be a challenging activity, therefore ensure physical fitness. Eight people are permitted per group per day. On occasions the Gorillas prove elusive but often can be found within an hour by the tracker guides. It is a wonderful experience to stare in to the eyes of these gentle giants; watch them in awe as they play and go about their daily activities. Gorilla Tracking is indeed a “once in a lifetime” experience that you must never miss. Each encounter with the gorillas is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Day 7 of 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari: Transfer back to Kampala.
Today we head back to Kampala or Entebbe for your evening departure. Its long drive that will take plenty of driving.
